Northern Saxony – your home in the heart of Germany
Living and working in a prime location
North Saxony, a district in the Free State of Saxony, was formed in 2008 from the former districts of Torgau-Oschatz and Delitzsch. With its central location in Saxony, it offers a high quality of life and diverse career prospects. Delitzsch is the largest town in the district, while Torgau is the administrative center.
Diverse landscapes
Northern Saxony is characterized by its varied landscape. From the wide plains of the Leipzig lowland bay to the hilly landscape of the Düben heathland and the floodplains of the Elbe and Mulde rivers – everyone will find their own personal natural landscape here. Whether cycling, hiking or water sports – there are a wide range of leisure activities on offer.
Rich history and culture
The region looks back on a long and eventful history. Numerous historic towns such as Torgau with its impressive Hartenfels Castle or Eilenburg with its medieval old town are well worth a visit. North Saxony also has a lot to offer culturally. From museums and galleries to numerous events – there is something for everyone here.
Economy and infrastructure
Northern Saxony is a strong business location. The region is characterized by a good mix of industry, trade and services. The transport links are excellent. You can quickly reach Leipzig and Berlin via the A14 highway. Local public transport is also well developed.
